A model for implementing home-based vision therapy services into a general optometric practice is presented. Recent NEI-funded studies have validated the efficacy of vision therapy as a primary treatment for convergence insufficiency and amblyopia. An overview of differential diagnosis leads to practical strategies for effective management with hierarchical treatment protocols, including efficient approaches to scheduling.
