With the recent changes in drug safety classification regarding pregnancy and the ever increasing list of medications ocular and systemic, it is important to re-introduce these topics. Along with considerations of prescribing glasses and dilating while patients are pregnant or breastfeeding we also need to mindful of all other treatments that might affect both mother and child.
- 1. Address the new classifications of medications for pregnancy and how it's changed. 2. Ocular medication and oral medications frequently used that can be used during pregnancy. Discuss alternatives when medications that are standard can’t be used. 3. Discuss an overview of common changes and ocular problems that can arise during pregnancy.
