Sexually transmitted disease infections can be devastating to the human visual system, resulting in anterior and posterior segment manifestations as well as the proliferation of opportunistic infections in some conditions. Proper early identification of these diseases dramatically increases the likelihood of a favorable outcome. A brief review of the clinical characteristics, both ocular and systemic, of multiple STDs, will be presented. Additionally, newer literature findings associated with treatment options may shed new light on diagnosis and management issues, and key studies will be reviewed in this presentation.
