This course provides a treatment algorithm for open-angle glaucoma that is structured but also individualized for each patient. Efficacy, cost, convenience adverse reactions, and contraindications are discussed for each treatment step. Appropriate use of SLT and MIGS procedures are discussed as well. The utility of potential therapies is also considered.
- The attendee will: 1. Understand that glaucoma treatment must be individual patient-centric. 2. Recognize that there are numerous considerations that must be accounted for at each step in treatment. 3. Understand the appropriate use of target pressure. 4. Understand the primary and secondary use of SLT. 5. Understand how MIGS procedures are utilized. 6. Become more comfortable in managing glaucoma in their practices.
