This course reviews the optometric presentation of neurological conditions including myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinsons disease using a grand rounds case presentation format. The variability in case presentations will elaborate on the vast clinical presentations each condition has, and what role the optometrist plays in co-managing these diseases.
- 1. Review the pathophysiology and epidemiology of multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and Parkinsons disease
- 2. Demonstrate the optometric clinical presentation(s) of the aforementioned neurological diseases to aid the practitioner in diagnosis
- 3. Use clinical cases to elaborate on the optometric management options for patients as well as co-management collaboration with neurologists
